Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
By creating an account, booking a session, offering a session, or using Elevator, you agree to these Terms of Service.
1. About Elevator
Elevator is a marketplace platform that helps learners find and book local in-person lessons, classes, and skill-based sessions from teachers. Elevator provides the platform, booking tools, payment flow, moderation tools, and support processes. Teachers are responsible for the sessions they offer.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your login details secure.
- Accounts are intended for adults. Parents or guardians may manage bookings for children.
- You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or create safety, payment, fraud, or legal risks.
3. Learner responsibilities
- Read session details, location information, cancellation rules, and teacher information before booking.
- Arrive on time and behave respectfully toward teachers and other learners.
- Do not submit false reviews, disputes, reports, or no-show claims.
- Do not attempt to avoid platform protections or fees by moving bookings or payments off Elevator.
4. Teacher responsibilities
- Provide accurate session descriptions, prices, categories, dates, times, images, capacity, and location information.
- Only offer sessions you are qualified and able to provide safely and lawfully.
- Attend confirmed sessions on time and deliver the session as described.
- Complete Stripe onboarding where required to receive payouts.
- Comply with applicable laws, tax obligations, insurance requirements, safeguarding expectations, venue rules, and professional obligations.
5. Session approval and moderation
Elevator may review, approve, reject, edit visibility, or remove sessions, categories, images, profiles, reviews, or other content. Approval does not mean Elevator guarantees the quality, safety, legality, or suitability of any teacher or session.
6. Payments
Payments are securely processed by Stripe. By booking a session, you authorise the applicable charge shown before payment, including the lesson price, Elevator fee, and payment processing fee where applicable. Elevator does not store full card details.
7. Teacher payouts
Teacher payouts are handled through Stripe Connect where available. Payout eligibility may depend on Stripe onboarding, booking status, dispute status, refund status, no-show reports, and any payout delay or review period applied by Elevator. Elevator may pause or withhold payouts where a booking is disputed, refunded, cancelled, suspected of fraud, or otherwise requires review.
8. Cancellations and refunds
Cancellation and refund rules are described in our Refund Policy. You must review and agree to the cancellation and refund terms before completing a booking. Payment processing fees may be non-refundable except where Elevator decides otherwise or where required by law.
9. Disputes and no-shows
Users may report disputes or no-shows through the app where available. Elevator may review booking records, user reports, timing, payment status, and other relevant information. Elevator may decide whether a refund, payout, account action, or other resolution is appropriate.
10. Safety and in-person sessions
Elevator helps users arrange local in-person sessions, but users are responsible for using good judgment. Meet in appropriate locations, follow venue rules, supervise children where relevant, and report concerning behaviour.
11. User content and reviews
You are responsible for content you upload or submit, including profile information, session descriptions, images, messages, requests, reviews, and dispute comments. Reviews should be honest, relevant, and based on genuine experiences.
12. Prohibited behaviour
- Fraud, scams, chargeback abuse, false disputes, fake bookings, or fake reviews.
- Harassment, discrimination, threats, abuse, or unsafe conduct.
- Uploading content you do not own or have permission to use.
- Attempting to interfere with the app, security, payments, or other users.
13. Availability and changes
Elevator may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service. We may update features, fees, policies, or these terms as the platform develops.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Elevator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses, or for the conduct, quality, suitability, or actions of users, teachers, learners, venues, or third parties. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, unless mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
